“I’ve Got You Under My Skin” by Gloria Gaynor – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Gloria Gaynor’s third album “I’ve Got You” was released in 1976 under the production of Jay Elis, Meco Monardo and Tony Bongiovi. The disco groove became more and more evident with Gloria’s fantastic vocal delivery. Her style and dedication to disco music gave dance floors a polished yet soulful approach to its theme and music.
I have taken the title track “I’ve Got You Under My Skin” (from the motion picture “Born To Dance”) written by Cole Porter and paired the disco-fied version to the 1984 comedy/romance film “All Of Me” starring Steve Martin and Lily Thomlin – it tells the story of a dying millionaire who attempts to have her soul transferred into the body of a willing younger woman. In the process something goes wrong and she finds herself in the body of her lawyer, Steve Martin. The theme somehow blends with the silly and comedic consequences.
The film was directed by Carl Reiner
