“Gloria” by Laura Branigan – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Laura Branigan was a voice that brought a new energy and vibrancy to radio and clubs in 1982 with her big dance hit, “Gloria” – produced by Jack White. The single was an ominous sound with the blaring synthesized horns and Laura’s rock-edged vocal. The track was an instant hit and gave Branigan an audience which would rely on this voice to deliver dance songs to give the 80s a new diva.
This Disco Video Mix brings a new Gloria into the hit song and a bit of an edge. The 1971 TV series “All In The Family” is the premise of this Disco Video Mix and a turn for the celebration of the ringing name. Sally Struthers’ character makes the lead role for this play on names and a reminder of the sensitivity and laughter that this classic show brought as well as the rolling bass and excitement of a dance floor anthem.
The TV Series was developed by Norman Lear and produced by Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin.
