Passion is a disco group from producer, composer and arranger Ray Martinez featuring Richard Noriega Jr.. “In New York” is from the project “Passion” from 1979 released on the New York disco label Prelude Records. This number is one of the disco anthems which have the Miami flair which made disco music successful in the mid and late 70s.
I have taken the song and blended it in this Disco Video Mix with the 1977 film by Martin Scorsese, “New York, New York” starring Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli. The paring of the two titles and the story line of a romance between a singer and a musician in New York in 1945. The drama and performance sequences from Liza Minnelli add to the power of the disco track.
