“Zig Zag” by Rose Royce – Disco Video Mix by Glenn Rivera
Rose Royce is a funk band from Los Angeles whose first album with lead singer Gwen Dickey was the soundtrack to the 70s iconic film, “Car Wash” from 1976. The double album was a huge success as with the film. The band featured Gwen "Rose" Dickey, Melvin "Wah-Wah" Ragin, Ben Wilber, Mark Davis, Kenny Copeland, Michael Moore, Victor Nix, Kenji Brown, Henry Garner, Terry Santiel and Lequeint "Duke" Jobe and 17 funky-disco tracks which ranged from funk-disco and light r&b.
I have taken the song, “Zig Zag: from the soundtrack and paired it with the 1978 comedy “Up In Smoke” with the duo of tokers, Cheech and Chong. There should be no question of the choices here and the adventures of these stoners pair well with the funk and dip of Rose Royce.
The film was directed by Lou Adler
